Crazy Year!!!

Things have been very crazy this past year to say the least. As far as my goal goes of getting 50 projects done before I turn 50 well I didn't quite make it. I believe I got to 37, but to make an excuse last September my Mom had a massive stroke in which 1/3 of her right hemesphere of her brain was damaged, we are very lucky to still have her with us!!!! So from that time on I have not gotten very much sewing done just a few bags and such. In one week we will officially be empty nesters, so I am hoping to be able to start working more on my goals I want to accomplish. I need to set another goal to finish some projects, declutter my house and lose weight and work out more. I decided that I will try to keep posting on my blog my baby steps towards these goals. In the coming days I will try to post all the pictures of the things I did get done last year.

My new goal is to get 50 projects done before I turn 50. So far I have gotten a quilt done which was a buggy barn guilt and it had in it over 1600 pieces, It took a lot longer to do than I thought it would. But my mom and I had fun doing it, we both made one I will post a picture of it after I get it quilted and then sew on the wooden buttons that my Dad made for me they are awesome!!!!!!!! I also finished a table runner and a wall hanging also a table top quilt. So I have gotten a pretty good start I have two more table top quilts to bind and two table runners to quilt and bind.
Here are a couple of the things I have finished.

January 2, 2012

Well to start off with what a year, Mandy came home early from her mission in May 2011 because of illness and come to find out she has parrasites. It has taken until now to try and get rid of them. She is doing much better. She went back to school and will graduate from the Skin Science Institute on January 13, she will then be a estatition (?) that is someone who can do chemical peels and laser hair removal and other things. Kevin came home from his mission in November 2011, it has taken a little while to adjust but he is doing great now, he will be starting college in August at USU. Kirsten graduated from BYU with a 4 year degree in Nursing I am so proud of her. She also did a study abroad in India for a month, she helped at a school for little children whose parents have leprosy. It was a great experience. Justin and Sarah came down from Alaska in June and stayed for a few days to visit it was so great to see them again, I sure do miss them!!!! Last but not least Ryan is doing great he is a Junior in HS he got honorable mention All State in football, he had a great year he is now wrestling and doing great, except for a concussion he recieved the Saturday before Christmas, he is finally doing better and will be able to start wrestling again.

I decided to make my new years resolutions quite simple this year and see if I could keep them. I am going to get my house organized and dejunk. If I can lose weight in the prosess that would be great. I am also going to try and get more sewing done and make the goal to post pictures on here of all the quilts, table runners and wall hangings I have completed. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!

Didn't make it.

Well, it has been a year since I have updated my blog....... I didn't quite make it with my resolutions last year so I am trying again this year I think I will make the goal to just get half of my unfinished projects done. We do have a a lot going on this year so we will see. Kirsten is graduating from BYU with a bachelors degree in nursing and she is also going to go on a study abroad to India for a month we are so proud of her and her accomplishments. Mandy decided to go on a mission too so I have two missionaries out right now Mandy is in Hawaii and Kevin is in California, Kevin will be home in November, we are so excited for that to come. Well I will try to keep this up dated a little better and get a few things done so I can post them here.

Almost done

I have finished another quilt this one is Ryan's it is a basketball quilt for his room. I just need to get the back done for it, I am still looking for material for it. I also finished the back to my black quilt so it is already to be quilted. I love the feeling I have inside when I finish a project, and the person I am making for likes it. As far as my weight goes I have not been doing very good. I am at least staying the same weight. Going to try something new next week, and step up my exercising more. I will hopefully post some pics of my quilt tomorrow. I am now going to finish up a couple of small projects before I start another one from scratch.
I heard from Kevin today so life is good, he is sure doing great!!!
